Town Planning
WFW has represented a number of commercial and private clients on a variety of town planning and contested property matters, both commercial and residential, including:
- compulsory acquisition of property under the provisions of the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 (Vic) and securing reasonable compensation for clients through the process of negotiation, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Supreme Court of Victoria;
- residential and commercial developments opposed by local resident groups and Councils;
- review applications to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal following the refusal by Councils to issue planning permits; and
- landfill and quarry matters and other environmental issues and potential prosecutions under relevant planning legislation.
We have, over the years, developed strong relationships with both Junior and Senior Counsel experienced in this area, as well as Town Planning experts and Landscape experts to ensure that our clients receive the very best advice and achieve their objectives in a cost effective manner.
